Whitewater rafting and kayaking in West Virginia is often easier than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that quite a few of the sections in this state are pretty easy. This stretch of Morgan Run is 1.6 miles long and it is classified as a class III section by American     Whitewater. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just being out on the river for a while are great attractions for lots of people. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this area has a large number of paddling places. The put-in location is a short drive from Morgantown. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the Rt. 26 to Cheat River section is one of them. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. This is a short paddling stretch so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do   book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Briefly about the general area: There are plenty of folks from Kingwood here at Morgan Run, and Dunkard Bottom is something you shouldn't miss if you're here. Throughout the months of summer at Morgan Run highs are commonly in the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's while the cold winter nights at Morgan Run are in the 10's. An average amount of precipitation falls at Morgan Run.
