  The put-in is not too far from Oak Hill, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often easier than in other states, so keep in mind that rivers in this state are less demanding. The Confluence with Jim's Branch to confluence with Gauley River section of Panther Creek in Nicholas County is 3.3 miles long and it is classified as a class III-IV section
    by American Whitewater. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while have people coming from far and
near. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the Confluence with Jim's Branch to confluence with Gauley River section is one of them. This is a bit of a short stretch so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. The wonderful West Virginia scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream will make you  
feel great.

Briefly about the general area:
While you're here at Panther Creek you will meet lots of people from nearby Fenwick; why not take a refreshing hike along the Perry Ridge Trail. Panther Creek is right by the Harris Siding Trail. At Panther Creek throughout the warm days of summer highs are in the 80's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 60's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Panther Creek. A good deal of precipitation falls at Panther Creek. Throughout the month of July you get the most rain around here; January on the other hand is the driest.
