This section of Peters Creek in Nicholas     County is 2.5 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II-III+(V+) section. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature will make you glad you came. This is a short paddling stretch so no need to bring snacks. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more forgiving, so if you're not from around here don't forget that a lot of the rivers in this state are suitable for beginners. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll   find a large number of good rivers. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Oak Hill, as you can see on the road map further down. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground.
