This stretch is mid length, it's perfect for a one day trip. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater   rafting or kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of places for that. Briefly about the general area: Skiing at Canaan Valley is one of those things you just have to do, and there are plenty of folks from Riverton here. If you crave a little side trip, try Riverton Gap, and the Horton Riverton Trail offers hiking at its best. This river is so great.
