  The starting location is a short drive from Harrisonburg, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in West Virginia are often more forgiving than in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that lots of rivers in this state are good for beginners. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling
    places. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are sure to keep you coming back for more. This is not the only paddling section in this river system, there are others too. If you're a camper you can camp
at one of the great campgrounds nearby. This stretch of Potomac River - North Fork of South Branch in West Virginia is 7.6 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class I-II(III) section. The scenic beauty of Pendleton County and the cool fresh water beats anything. This is a pretty decent length section, good for a one day paddling trip.

Trail, and Judy Spring is an inspiring place to pop by while you're here. If you're here, you might as well visit Mexico Hollow, and lots of folks from Seneca Rocks come here. Lots of fun awaits you along this river. Have a great hiking adventure along the High Meadows Trail; don't leave Potomac River - North Fork of South Branch without first paying a visit to McDonald Springs. You can never get enough of the magnificent skiing at Canaan Valley. High temperatures at Potomac River - North Fork of South Branch throughout the long summer days are in the 80's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 50's.
