Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in West Virginia are easier than the national norm, so you'd better keep in mind that many runs in this state are very easy. This stretch of Potomac River - South Fork of the South Branch in West Virginia is 12.2 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class I-II section. For all you camping     people there are campgrounds nearby. The beautiful scenery of West Virginia and the playfulness of the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. This is not the only paddling stretch in this river system, there are others too. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are lots of good rivers for that around here. This section is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so pack your sleeping bag. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. Briefly about the general area: Potomac River - South Fork of the South Branch   is a site with many visitors from Milam. There's fine hiking along the Buck Lick Run Trail It's always nice to stop at Dumpling Run Spring. If you come to this river you will have a good time for sure. Don't leave Potomac River - South Fork of the South Branch without first going for a hike along the Lick Run Trail. Lost River State Park is both great and scenic, and it's near Potomac River - South Fork of the South Branch, and don't leave Potomac River - South Fork of the South Branch without first paying a visit to White Cloud Spring.
