road map further down. This stretch has has enough mileage, it's perfect for a one day trip. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The Bridge on West Virginia 92 to bridge  
at Hiram section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system.

Briefly about the general area:
Sandy Creek is right by the Pheasant Mountain Trail; dropping by Tygart Lake State Park is a pleasant thing to do. Hiking along the South Haddix Trail is magnificent fun; there are plenty of people from Thornton here at Sandy Creek. This river has it all. Valley Falls State Park is a great place to check out on a pretty day. All the water falling down from the sky makes Sandy Creek a wet place. The month of July is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month is February.
