CLASS IV-V+     13 miles
  This section of Seneca Creek is 13 miles long and is a class IV-V+ section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The put-in is not too far from Staunton-Waynesboro, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The scenic beauty of West Virginia and the playfulness of the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature have
    people coming from far and near. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so why not pack your camping stuff too. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in West Virginia are often easier than in
other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the sections in this state are safe for beginners. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. There are some good sections to paddle in this river system, the Judy Springs to Forest Service Campground section is one of them. Since you're on this site you are  
probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good places.

Briefly about the general area:
Falls Of Seneca is a wonderful local attraction, and Canaan Valley is a great local ski area. There is a fine hiking trail near Seneca Creek called the Little Allegheny Trail, and you'll in all probability meet some folks from Onego here. Lots of fun awaits you along this river. Going for a hike on the Allegheny Trail is always a magnificent adventure. Much precipitation falls at Seneca Creek. The month with most of the rain is July while February is typically the driest month.
