CLASS I-II(III)     12.3 miles
  This stretch of Sleepy Creek is 12.3 miles long and has been rated as a class I-II(III) section by American Whitewater. The put-in location is a short drive from Hagerstown-Martinsburg, as you can see on the road map further down. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often easier than in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that a lot of the rivers in this state are suitable for beginners.
    Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near. Lodging is available near the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. This
is not the only paddling section in this river system, there are others too. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. This stretch is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so why not pack your camp stove too.

Big Flat Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region. People from Berkeley Springs love to come to Sleepy Creek, and don't leave without stopping by Cacapon State Park. The surroundings of this river have so much to offer. An average amount of rainfall falls at Sleepy Creek. Of all the months in a year May is the one with the most rain; February meanwhile is the driest month. High temperatures at Sleepy Creek throughout the warm months are in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 60's. For the period of the wintertime the highs are generally in the 30's, and night lows during the winter for Sleepy Creek tend to be in the 10's.
