  Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in West Virginia tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers in this state are not as hard as elsewhere. The natural beauty of Pocahontas County and the playfulness of the water have people coming here. This stretch is short so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have
    to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The campgrounds here at Tea Creek are pretty good. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find
a large number of good places. The Confluence of Right Fork to confluence with Williams River stretch of Tea Creek in Pocahontas County is 2.9 miles long and it is classified as a class IV-V section by American Whitewater. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. Briefly about the general area:
A tour to Watoga State Park when you're here at Tea Creek is never a bad idea, and Tea Creek is not far at all from Monterville. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Tea Creek; Williams River Trail is a good local trail. Good hiking is available along the Tea Creek Trail. Tea Creek frequently gets lots of rain. The month of July is the wettest with most of the rain; February meanwhile is the driest month. Throughout the summertime months highs here at Tea Creek reach the 80's. Summer night lows descend down to the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's with temperatures at Tea Creek dipping down into the 10's during winter nights.
