This stretch of Three Fork Creek is 12 miles long and is a class I-IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The wonderful West Virginia scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream will make you feel great. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby.     Getting your paddling muscles activated and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good spots. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. This stretch has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so why not pack your sleeping bag too. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Briefly about the general area: When you're here at Three Fork Creek it's always fun to explore Valley Falls State Park,   and there are plenty of folks from Independence here at Three Fork Creek. The beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Manacea Spring, and Tygart Lake State Park is both perfect and lovely. This river is so good. Three Fork Creek gets a good deal of water. The month with most of the rain is July, and the driest month of the year is February. For the duration of the summertime months at Three Fork Creek highs are commonly in the 80's. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's commonly in the 60's. All through the winter highs are in the 30's; nighttime lows in the 10's for Three Fork Creek.
