Wisconsin whitewater, Brule River

Forest Florence county, Highway 189 to FS2150 section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.

CLASS I-II     15.8 miles
This section of Brule River is 15.8 miles long and is a class I-II section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Wisconsin is often easier than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that rivers in this state are less demanding. The natural beauty of Wisconsin and the water flowing gracefully down Brule River will make you feel great. If you're coming from Iron Mountain it's
not a long drive at all to the starting location, as you can see on the road map further down. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. This section is long enough for an overnight trip if you take
your time, so pack your sleeping bag. A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. There are some good stretches to paddle in this river system, the Highway 189 to FS2150 stretch is one of them. No matter if you're whitewater
rafting or kayaking there are lots of good rivers for that around here.

Briefly about the general area:
