The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This is a pretty short section so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good spots for that around here. Briefly about the general area: A delightful site like Black River State Forest near Dickey Creek is too great to leave out, and hiking along the Silver Mound Trail is wonderful fun. Dickey Creek is a location with many visitors   from Merrillan. Dickey Creek is a good location of common rain. Of all the months in a year September is the one with the most rain, and February is the month with the least moisture. For the duration of the summertime months highs here at Dickey Creek get into the 80's while nighttime lows are regularly in the 50's. During the winter highs are in the 10's with temperatures at Dickey Creek dipping down into the-10's through winter nights.
