  This stretch of Menominee River in Marinette County is 0.3 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II-III section. The natural beauty of Marinette County and the playfulness of the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The starting point is not too far from Marinette, as you can see on the road map further down. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Wisconsin are often easier
    than in other states, so keep in mind that many of the sections in this state are safe for beginners. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good spots for that around here. A good workout and
a chance to spend some time outdoors have a lot of people coming here. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. This is an extremely short section so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. The campgrounds here at Menominee River are pretty good. This is one of a small number of paddling sections in this river system, there are a  
few others too.

Briefly about the general area:
Quiver Falls is an inspiring site to stop at while you're here, and Menominee River is not far at all from Loretto. Don't leave Menominee River without first paying a visit to Quiver Falls. The skiing at Norway Mountain is delightful. At Menominee River through the warmest time of the year highs are in the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. During the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Menominee River. Menominee River gets a normal amount of annual precipitation.
