Rocks everywhere, really shallow, and loads of trees blocking the river so you'd have to portage many times. We ended up not going down. I don't advise this unless you like spiders. The natural beauty of Marinette County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water attract people from     near and far. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while are   sure to keep you coming back for more.
