  The average Wisconsin whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master than those in other states, so better not forget that rivers in this state are less demanding. The starting location is a short drive from Racine, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. There are many good hotels to choose from, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. On this section you do
    get some distance, good for a one day paddling trip. This section of Pike River is 4.8 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class I(II) section. The Petrifying Springs to Lathrop section is one
of a few paddling sections in this river system. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you won't find a large number of other rivers. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature are great reasons to come. The scenic beauty of Kenosha County and the water flowing gracefully down Pike River are  
in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle.

Briefly about the general area:
Here at Pike River there are plenty of folks from Kenosha. All through the summertime months here at Pike River, high temperatures commonly get into the 70's, and through the night it cools down to the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's, and after the sun is down throughout the winter temperatures at Pike River fall into the 10's. An average amount of rainfall falls at Pike River. August is when you get the most rain here while February is frequently the driest month.
