This section of Potato River is 6.1 miles long and has been rated as a class II-III(IV) section by American Whitewater. Briefly about the general area: A visit to Island Lake when you're here at Potato River is a great idea;
the snow is fine at Whitecap Mountain. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors exciting stuff the Gogebic Range has to offer. Lots of people from Upson come to Potato River, and a journey to Copper Falls State Park
when you're here is never a bad idea. If you come to this river you will have a good time for sure. Potato River gets a normal amount of rain. The month with most of the rain is August, and the driest month is February.
