The Lower Red Lake Dam section of Red River in Wisconsin is 4.3 miles long and it is classified as a class I-II(III) section by American Whitewater. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master in this state than those in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers     in this state are less demanding. The starting point is not too far from Oshkosh-Neenah, as you can see on the road map further down. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the Lower Red Lake Dam section is one of them. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This stretch has has enough mileage, good for a one day paddling trip. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Whether you're whitewater   rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of places for that. Briefly about the general area: Put some time aside to spend at Gilmer Falls if you're here at Red River, and if you're visiting from Gresham, you won't be the only one. It's always good to go to Freeman Falls. For the duration of the warm months here at Red River, high temperatures regularly reach the 70's with nighttime lows in the 50's. For the period of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the-10's to Red River. Red River gets a normal amount of annual rainfall.
