The starting location is a reasonable drive from Duluth, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Wisconsin is often easier than elsewhere, so keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are quite easy. gets highs in the 20's with temperatures at St. Croix River dipping down into the-10's through winter nights. St. Croix River gets a normal amount of rainfall. Most of the rain falls during August; February is when it's the driest.
