CLASS I-II     8 miles
  The average Wisconsin whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master than those in other states, so don't forget that lots of rivers in this state are good for beginners. This stretch of St. Croix River is 8 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class I-II section. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. Great exercise and just hanging out
    with mother nature are great reasons to come. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car.
This is a pretty decent length section, suitable for an afternoon trip. The beautiful scenery of Burnett County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to come here and paddle. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. The starting point is not too far from Minneapolis-St. Paul-Bloomington, as you can see on the road map further down.

There are plenty of folks from Grantsburg here at St. Croix River. Going to Governor Knowles State Forest in the vicinity of St. Croix River is a great thing to do. Going for a hike along the Minnesota-Wisconsin Boundary State Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood. Wild River State Park is a great place to explore on a beautiful day. St. Croix River gets a common amount of annual rainfall. Of all the months in a year June is the one with the most rain; February meanwhile is the driest month. At St. Croix River throughout the days of summer highs are in the 80's.
