  The average Wisconsin whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be easier to run than those in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that lots of rivers in this state are good for beginners. The Gehrman Creek to Brownstone Falls stretch of Tyler Forks is 1.8 miles long and it is classified as a class II-IV section by American Whitewater. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance
    because these hotels fill up quick. If you're coming from Eau Claire it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. There are a
few other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. The natural beauty of Ashland County and the cool fresh water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good rivers for that around here. A good workout and spending some quality time in nature will make you glad you came. This is a bit of a short stretch  
so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. The wild scenery of the Gogebic Range is great.

Briefly about the general area:
A short spree to Copper Falls is always worthwhile, and Copper Falls State Park is a nice location to go. Yeah, come up here to the Gogebic Range for a nice time. A visit to Tyler Forks wouldn't be complete without taking a look at Brownstone Falls. While you're here at Tyler Forks you will meet lots of folks from nearby Mellen. An average amount of precipitation falls at Tyler Forks. Most of the rain falls through August, and February is when it's the driest.
