Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Wyoming is often more difficult than elsewhere, so keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. This stretch has has enough mileage, suitable for an afternoon trip. The beautiful scenery of Teton County and the cool fresh water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. Getting a good workout and just hanging out with mother nature are sure to keep you coming back for |
more. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Jackson, as you can see on the road map further down. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might
| end up sleeping in your car. The campgrounds here at Bitch Creek are pretty good. The Headwaters to state line stretch is one of many paddling stretches in this river system.
Briefly about the general area: Grand Targhee has great slopes and a friendly staff; you can go for a hike on the Poacher Trail. Don't leave Bitch Creek without first going for a hike along the North Bitch Creek Trail. It is very dried up here at Bitch Creek | |
