  Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Wyoming is often more difficult than elsewhere, so better not forget that the rivers in this state are less manageable. The wonderful Converse County scenery and the playfulness of the water attract people from near and far. A bit of exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. This river system has a few
    good paddling sections and the R77W to Forest Service boundary section is one of them. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular
destination. The R77W to Forest Service boundary section of Deer Creek is 11 miles long and it is classified as a class III-V section by American Whitewater. The starting location is a short drive from Casper, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you wonít get lost. This stretch is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so go ahead and pack your sleeping bag. The beautiful Laramie Mountains scenery  
is an added bonus. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this area has a pretty small number of paddling places.

Briefly about the general area:
Throughout the summertime, highs typically are in the 80's at Deer Creek. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 50's. High temperatures during the wintertime are normally in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Deer Creek. Around Deer Creek you donít get a lot of rain. Throughout the month of May you get the most rain around here, and the driest month of the year is January.
