The scenic beauty of Wyoming and the cool fresh water attract people from near and far. This stretch of Gros Ventre River in Wyoming is 5 miles long and it is classified as a class II-IV section by American Whitewater. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Wyoming are often more challenging     than in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that rivers here are less forgiving. This is a pretty decent length section, it's perfect for a one day trip. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. There are a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. When you're paddling down a Wind River Range river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty   of rivers for that. A good workout and just being out on the river for a while are great attractions for lots of people. Briefly about the general area: Grand Teton National Park is a very wonderful place to pop by close to Gros Ventre River, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Jenny Lake Moraine Horse Trail. So much entertaining stuff to do here in the Wind River Range, too fine to be true. Head up to Snow King and strap some skis to your feet; Gros Ventre River is right by the Granite Highline Trail. This river is a great place to visit. Not much rainfall falls here at Gros Ventre River.
