If you're coming from Laramie it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, as you can see on the road map further down. This stretch of Laramie River is 3 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class I-II section. This is a somewhat short section so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these |
hotels fill up quick. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. The average Wyoming whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be harder to run than those in other states, so better not forget that
| a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you won't find a large number of other spots. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will make you glad you came. Bow Trail, and a nice spot close by is Pollock Draw. Going for a hike along the Pache Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area. While you're here at Laramie River you will meet lots of people from close
by Laramie. Summertime at Laramie River comes with high temperatures in the 70's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 40's.
