The natural beauty of Wyoming and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream have people coming here. This section of North Platte River in Carbon County is 20 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class I-III section. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. | whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Wyoming you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so you'd better keep in mind that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the State line to French Creek section is one of them. Briefly about the general area: Medicine Bow National Forest is a delightful spot to pop by, and nearby you stumble
on the State Line Trail which is a perfect hiking trail. Through the long summer days highs here at North Platte River reach the 70's; the night is a tad chillier of course, regularly in the 40's. The cold days of the wintertime
come with highs in the 30's; nighttime lows in the 10's for North Platte River. Around North Platte River you don’t get a lot of rainfall.
