  This section of Paintrock Creek is 12 miles long and has been rated as a class V+ section by American Whitewater. The beautiful scenery of Wyoming and the playfulness of the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more challenging than the national average, so better not forget that rivers here are less forgiving. There are some good stretches to paddle in this river system,
    the North Fork to Valley floor stretch is one of them. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so go ahead and pack your sleeping bag. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations
in advance you're all set. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this is an area with not too many other places for that. There's camping available near Paintrock Creek. The starting point is not too far from Sheridan, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page.

Briefly about the general area:
Going for a hike on the Kinky White Trail is always a perfect
adventure; there are plenty of people from Hyattville here at Paintrock Creek. Go for a hike on the Main Paint Rock Trail. Paintrock Creek is a location that is relatively arid frequently. June is the wettest month with most rain while February is frequently the driest month. High temperatures at Paintrock Creek through the warm months are in the 60's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 30's. Through the wintertime highs are mostly in the 20's while Paintrock Creek night low temperatures through the winter are in the 0's.
