The scenic beauty of Anchorage Borough and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Alaska is often more difficult than elsewhere, so keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. If you're coming from Anchorage it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location. No shortage |
of good hotels, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling
| spots. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. The beautiful Chugach Mountains scenery is an added bonus.

into the 60's. Summer overnight lows fall down to the 40's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 10's; night lows at Anchorage Whitewater during the wintertime usually descend into the 0's. Anchorage Whitewater
is pretty dehydrated commonly. The month with most of the rain is September while April is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
