The put-in location is a short drive from Anchorage. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state |
is often more difficult than elsewhere, so keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. The nature scenery of Alaska and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream attract people from near
| and far. Getting a good workout and spending some quality time in nature are great reasons to come. The river winds through the Chugach Mountains and you get great scenery. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all | |

set. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground.
Briefly about the general area: Good hiking is available along the Bird Creek Trail, and if you're here, do take a trip to Snipers Point. Having
a magnificent time in the Chugach Mountains is easy. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Chugach Outdoor Center; Carter Lake Trail is a nice local trail. Through the summertime months at Chugach Outdoor Center temperatures
are commonly in the 60's; the overnight is rather chillier of course, ordinarily in the 50's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 10's, and overnight lows all through the wintertime for Chugach Outdoor Center tend to be in the 0's.
