The scenic beauty of Grand County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream make the trip here worthwhile. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Colorado are harder than the national norm, so don't forget that the rivers in this state are less manageable. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are great reasons to come. Whether you're whitewater |
rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of spots for that. The put-in is not too far from Silverthorne. If you'll be staying in a hotel you're in luck, lodging is available very near the river, but if you don’t have
| reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The wild scenery of the Park Range is great.
Briefly about the general area: Arkansas Valley Adventures is not far at all from Silverthorne; close by Horse Gulch is a delightful spot to go. And that's not all you can do here in the Park Range. There's nice hiking along the Sheep Drive Trail; the Eaglesmere Trail offers hiking at its best. This river is a great place to visit. It | |
