The starting point is not too far from Durango. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature will make you glad you came. | here to paddle. Lodging is available near the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car.
Briefly about the general area: There is a pleasant hiking trail near Durango Rafting called the Goodhope Stock Driveway, and close by you find delightful spots like Horse Gulch.
