Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more challenging than the national average, so better not forget that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. A good workout and spending some quality time in nature will have you coming back for more. The put-in     is not too far from Edwards. There are plenty of hotels here if you want to spend a night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Whitewater paddling here in the Park Range is a great experience. Briefly about the general area: Everybody loves Stagecoach State Park, and Heart Spring is a good local attraction. Man, is there a lot of cool stuff to do in the Park Range. Routt National Forest is worth taking a look at if you're at Steamboat Rafting; hiking along the Red Dirt Trail is magnificent   fun. This river is so wonderful. The cheerful folks of Steamboat Springs like to hang out close by; do take a hike on the Elk Park Trail. Put some time aside to spend at Sulphur Cave Spring while you're here at Steamboat Rafting. The skiing at Howelsen Hill is wonderful. High temperatures at Steamboat Rafting during the warm months are in the 80's. Summer nighttime lows dip down to the 40's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 20's, and during the dark hours in the winter at Steamboat Rafting temperatures dip to the 0's.
