Northwest Voyageurs Idaho county, Idaho whitewater outfitter     Kayaks Rafts Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that rivers here are less forgiving. The beautiful scenery of Idaho County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water make the trip here worthwhile. Lodging is available near the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The starting point     is not too far from Lewiston. The campgrounds here at Northwest Voyageurs are pretty good. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are lots of good places for that around here. The river winds through the Wallowa Mountains and you get great scenery. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while are sure to keep you coming back for more. Briefly about the general area: Good hiking is available along the Heavens Gate Trail, and Alum Gulch is a nice site to pop by. Now, you may think that's lots but there's even more cool things to do here in the Wallowa Mountains. There's great hiking along the Old   Boise Trail, and during your tour here you'll meet some folks from Riggins for sure. This river has it all. At Northwest Voyageurs you don’t see much rainfall. May is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month is July. Summertime brings highs in the 90's to Northwest Voyageurs. Through the moonlight hours it's commonly in the 50's.
