Salmon River

If you're coming from Missoula it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location. The natural beauty of Idaho and the cool fresh water have people coming here. Whitewater paddling here in the Bitterroot Range is a great experience. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Idaho is often tougher
than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. Getting a good workout and just hanging
out with mother nature are great reasons to come. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this is an area with not too many other places for that.

Briefly about the general area:
Take a hike on the Moose Creek Trail, and you're sure to come across some fine folks from Salmon here. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors exciting stuff the Bitterroot Range has to offer. Why

not take a refreshing hike along the Daly Creek Trail, and nearby Lemhi Valley is a glorious place to go. This river is so great. At Salmon River Rafting all through the warm months highs are in the 80's, and the nighttime is slightly chillier of course, typically in the 40's. All through the winter this place gets highs in the 20's, and after the sun is down all through the winter temperatures at Salmon River Rafting descend into the 0's. Not much rainfall falls here at Salmon River Rafting. For the period of the month of June you get the most rain around here while February is ordinarily the driest month.
