You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Whitewater paddling here in the Lewis Range is a great experience. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Kalispell. No matter if you're     whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while have people coming from far and near. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Montana is often easier than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that quite a few of the sections in this state are pretty easy. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Briefly about the general area: All our national parks are nice places to stop at, and Glacier National Park is no exception. Going for a hike on the Howe Lake Trail is always   a fine adventure, and Rubideau Spring is a delightful spot to go to while you're at Great Northern Whitewater. This river is so wonderful. Nearby John F Stevens Canyon is a pleasant spot to go if you're at Great Northern Whitewater; there is a magnificent hiking trail close by called the South Boundary Trail. There are plenty of folks from West Glacier here at Great Northern Whitewater. Great Northern Whitewater gets very little rainfall. The wettest month of the year is mostly December, that's the one that snows the most; April meanwhile is the driest month.
