The put-in is not too far from Taos. A bit of exercise     and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. There are many good hotels to choose from, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling places. There's camping available near Far FLUNG Adventures. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in New Mexico is often easier than elsewhere, so keep in mind that many of the rivers in this state are not very demanding. Briefly about the general area: Far FLUNG Adventures is right by the Devisadero Peak Loop Trail, and you can hit the slopes at Taos in the neighborhood.   Hiking along the Simpson Memorial Trail is glorious fun, and there are plenty of folks from Arroyo Seco here. This is such a wonderful river. Far FLUNG Adventures is mostly a pretty dry place. The month of August is the wettest with most of the rain while January is ordinarily the driest month.
