Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often easier than elsewhere, so keep in mind that many of the rivers in this state are not very demanding. A good workout and spending some quality time in nature will make you glad you came. The scenic beauty of North Carolina and the cool fresh water have people coming here. There are some good hotels near the river, and if you make reservations
    in advance you're all set. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. The starting point is not too far from Asheville. Whitewater paddling here in the Blue Ridge Mountains is a great experience. Whether
you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good places.

Briefly about the general area:
The Lagoon is not far from Explore Biltmore Outdoor Center at all; you'll meet a lot of people from Asheville here. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Blue Ridge Mountains. Go for a hike on the Side Hill Trail, and White Fawn Gap is a wonderful spot to visit. At this river you will never have a bad time.
 
Don't leave Explore Biltmore Outdoor Center without visiting Pisgah National Forest, and if you have time, Blue Ridge Parkway is a national park worth checking out. Good hiking is available along the Shut-In Trail. Explore Biltmore Outdoor Center ordinarily gets much rainfall. Of all the months in a year July is the one with the most rain while October is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Summer at Explore Biltmore Outdoor Center comes with high temperatures in the 80's, and the night is fairly cooler of course, mostly in the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Explore Biltmore Outdoor Center.
