Kayaks Rafts
The wonderful Watauga County scenery and the playfulness of the water beats anything. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside North Carolina you might find the rivers here a bit more manageable, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many of the sections in this state are safe for beginners. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors |
have a lot of people coming here. If you're coming from Boone it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good rivers for that around here. The wild
| scenery of the Blue Ridge Mountains is great. Lodging is available near the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set.
Briefly about the general area: Why not take a refreshing hike along the Daniel Boone Scout Trail, and since you're here, you might as well pop by Hodges Gap. This site, the Blue Ridge Mountains, has so much outdoors enjoyable stuff. Take a hike on the Yancey Ridge Trail, and this is a popular | |

place for folks from Boone. This is such a great river. Gotta ski! Appalachian Mountain is a tremendous place to do that. River & Earth Adventures is a rather wet place ordinarily with a large amount of rain. May is when
you get the most rain here, and December meanwhile is the driest month. For the period of the days of summer at River & Earth Adventures temperatures are regularly in the 70's, and the nighttime is somewhat colder of course,
mostly in the 50's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 40's, and throughout the dark hours in the winter at River & Earth Adventures temperatures descend to the 10's.
