There are some good hotels near the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination.

all. Nantahala National Forest is a good site to check out on a delightful day. Summertime highs at Rolling Thunder River mostly tend to be in the 80's; through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. All through the
winter this place gets highs in the 40's; winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Rolling Thunder River. All the water falling down from the sky makes Rolling Thunder River a wet place.
