The river winds through the Great Smoky Mountains and you get great scenery. The starting location is a short drive from Sevierville. This river has it all. Nantahala National Forest is a good site to check out on a delightful day. Summertime highs at Rolling Thunder River mostly tend to be in the 80's; through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. All through the winter this place gets highs in the 40's; winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Rolling Thunder River.
