The starting location is a reasonable drive from Texarkana. No need to look hard for hotels, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Oklahoma tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so better not forget that rivers in this
state are less demanding. The wild scenery of the Ouachita Mountains is great. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good spots for that around here. The wonderful Mccurtain County scenery and the
water flowing gracefully down Beavers Bend River Floats make the trip here worthwhile. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more.

Briefly about the general area:
You'll meet a lot of people from Broken Bow here, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Beaver Lodge Nature Trail. Man, is there heaps of entertaining things to do in the Ouachita Mountains. For the period of the

months of summer highs here at Beavers Bend River Floats reach the 90's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 60's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 50's, and winter nights come with lows in the 30's to Beavers Bend River Floats. All the water falling down from the sky makes Beavers Bend River Floats a wet site. May is the wettest month with most rain while January is mostly the driest month.
