The put-in location is a short drive from Tahlequah. The scenic beauty of Cherokee County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream attract people from near and far. Whitewater paddling here in the Ozarks is a great experience. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Since you're on this site you are probably
    into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this area has a pretty small number of paddling rivers. No shortage of good hotels, but if you donít have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Getting a good
workout and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near. The average Oklahoma whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master than those in other states, so keep in mind that many runs in this state are very easy.

Briefly about the general area:
Sequoyah Bay State Park is a picturesque location any time of year; lots of people from Welling come here. Life's too short to enjoy
all the cool stuff in the Ozarks. Near Sparrow Hawk Camp you find River Bend Hollow which is a splendid location to take a look at. Sparrow Hawk Camp mostly gets much rainfall. For the duration of the month of June you get the most rain around here, and the driest month is January. Summertime at Sparrow Hawk Camp arrives with high temperatures in the 90's while night lows are ordinarily in the 70's.
