The starting location is a short drive from Medford. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. If you're stopping by Fishin Hole from Shady Cove, you won't be the only one; hiking is a popular thing to do around Fishin Hole; Alco Trail is a nice local trail. This is a really good river. A visit to Casey State Park when you're here at Fishin Hole is never a bad idea, and a pleasant place to go to nearby is Conover Gulch. Joseph H. Stewart State Park is a magnificent site to pop by on a pretty day It's always good to stop by Trail Creek Riffle.
