The scenic beauty of Polk County and the water flowing gracefully down Man of Rubber are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. If you're coming from Cleveland it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some |
time outdoors are great reasons to come. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Tennessee you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so if you're not from around here don't forget that rivers
| here are less forgiving. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. The beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains is a great plus for this river.

of Rubber, and there is a good hiking trail nearby called the Sylco Creek Trail. A river like this is too good to miss. A good beach in the neighborhood of Man of Rubber is Parksville Beach; Man of Rubber is close to Eaststep
Gap which is without doubt worth checking out. The Indian Flat Trail is a glorious hiking trail near Man of Rubber. Summer at Man of Rubber comes with high temperatures in the 80's with night lows in the 60's. Highs through
the winter are frequently in the 40's while Man of Rubber nighttime low temperatures through the winter are in the 20's. All the water falling down from the sky makes Man of Rubber a wet place.
