Michigan whitewater, Red Cedar River

Ingham county, Williamston section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.

CLASS I     0.1 miles

I'm looking for about a 4-hour trip including the rapids. Where are launches to put in and take out? Says Sara

This section of Red Cedar River in Michigan is 0.1 miles long and is a class I section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The average Michigan whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be easier to run than those in other states, so keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are quite easy.
And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. There are some good stretches to paddle in this river system, the Williamston stretch is one of them. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want
to stay the night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. This is an extremely short section so no need to bring snacks. The put-in location is a short drive from Owosso, as you can see on the road map further down. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. The nature scenery of Michigan and the water flowing gracefully down Red Cedar River are in themselves reasons
enough to come here to paddle. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a pretty small number of paddling rivers.
