Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often easier than elsewhere, so better not forget that many of the rivers in this state are not very demanding. This stretch of Slate River is 2.5 miles long and it is classified as a class II-III+ section by American Whitewater. | a lot of people coming here. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. This is one of a small number of paddling stretches in this river system, there are a few others too. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination.

spent at Second Sand Beach is always good. Places like Craig Lake State Park are tremendous to take a look at. The amount of rain that falls at Slate River is close to the national average. The month of January is the wettest
with most of the snow, and the driest of the months is April. High temperatures at Slate River during the summer months are in the 70's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Slate River.
