The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Sayre, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The average Pennsylvania whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be easier to run than those in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that a large number     of rivers in this state are quite easy. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This section of Loyalsock Creek is 13 miles long and is a class I-IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so why not pack your camp stove too. The US 220 to Forksville section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number of   paddling spots. A good workout and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near. Briefly about the general area: Loyalsock Creek is right by the Rock Run Trail, and Haystacks is certainly a good place to pop by. Hiking along the Big Timber Spur is tremendous fun, and when you're here it's always fun to go to Worlds End State Park. At this river you will always have a good time. Lots of people from Laporte come to Loyalsock Creek. From a precipitation point of view Loyalsock Creek is a reasonably typical site. The month with most of the rain is June; January is the month with the least moisture.
