CLASS I-III     10.7 miles
  This stretch of Whiteday Creek is 10.7 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class I-III section. The scenic beauty of West Virginia and the playfulness of the water make the trip here worthwhile. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more forgiving, so you'd better keep in mind that many of the sections in this state are safe for beginners. No need to look hard for hotels,
    but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The Confluence of Cherry Run to Monongahela River section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. If you're coming from Morgantown it's
not a long drive at all to the put-in location, as you can see on the road map further down. Getting your paddling muscles activated and spending some quality time in nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. This section is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so pack your sleeping bag. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground.

Whiteday Creek you will meet lots of people from nearby Montana Mines. When you're here at Whiteday Creek it's always fun to stop at Valley Falls State Park; Tygart Lake State Park is a perfect spot to stretch your legs a bit. This is a great river. From a rainfall point of view Whiteday Creek is a relatively typical site. July is the month that gets the most rain, and February is when it's the driest. All through the months of summer at Whiteday Creek temperatures are ordinarily in the 80's, and the overnight is a tad chillier of course, typically in the 50's. Throughout the wintertime highs are mostly in the 30's, and night lows in the 10's for Whiteday Creek.
