The beautiful scenery of Tennessee and the water flowing gracefully down Clear Creek are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Whitewater paddling here in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains is a great experience. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers     here a bit more challenging, so if you're not from around here don't forget that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. This stretch has has enough mileage, good for a one day paddling trip. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of places for that. The campgrounds here at Clear Creek are pretty good. The Lilly to Nemo section is one of many paddling sections in this river system. If you're coming from Harriman it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're   all set. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. Briefly about the general area: If time allows, Obed Wild & Scenic River is a national park worth going to; Widow Maker Rapids is an inspiring spot to visit while here. So much amusing stuff to do in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains, not sufficient time. You'll meet a lot of folks from Lancing here; the beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Canoe Hole Rapids. Lots of fun awaits you along this river. Clear Creek is a pretty wet place commonly with much rain.
