Washington whitewater, White River

Pierce county, Silver Springs Campground to West Fork White section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.

CLASS III     10 miles
If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more demanding, so you'd better keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. The Silver Springs Campground to West Fork White section of White River in Washington is 10 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class III section of whitewater. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way around
here you'll find a large number of good places. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Whitewater paddling here
in the Northern Cascade Range is a great experience. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. A bit of exercise and spending some quality time in nature are great attractions for lots of people. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. If you're coming from Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, if you're not familiar with the area there's
a road map further down the page. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so why not pack your camp stove too. The wonderful Washington scenery and the cool fresh water are reasons enough to come here and paddle.

Briefly about the general area:
The Dalles is an exciting thing to catch a glimpse of since you're here at White River, and everyone nearby loves skiing at Crystal Mountain. Whohoo, so many exciting things in one place! The Northern Cascade Range rocks! A visit to White River wouldn’t be complete without a visit to nearby Federation Forest State Park.
